Ignition Entertainment, a leading publisher of videogames and interactive entertainment, announced last month that they have teamed up with publisher-developer AQ Interactive to bring the announced PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system title, Vampire Rain: Altered Species to North America and Europe.

“It is truly an honor to be working with AQ Interactive to bring Vampire Rain: Altered Species to both the North American and European markets,” said Ajay Chadha, president of Ignition Entertainment. “With a laundry list of notable titles already under their belt and years of experience, we at Ignition Entertainment are very optimistic in regards to this new partnership.”

Vampire Rain: Altered Species is an intense game of stealth, survival and all out skill that takes place during a cold, wet night in a suburban, west coast city in the US. For some time now, mankind has been battling the ferocious and terrifying Nightwalkers, a race of superhuman vampires who crave human blood. People have been disappearing at night; the lucky ones are found dead, but those less fortunate are reborn as Nightwalkers, and are bound by instinct to forcefully recruit unwitting victims into the Nightwalker army. Gamers take the role of John Lloyd, a member of a US special government unit created to defeat the Nightwalkers, and the only human to ever survive a physical encounter with them.

“We are very excited to be working with Ignition Entertainment to bring Vampire Rain: Altered Species to the PLAYSTATION®3 system,” said Artoon President Naoto Oshima. “With a diverse, cross-genre title like this, we feel that the processing power of the PLAYSTATION®3 system will help us deliver a streamlined and memorable experience.”

Aside from featuring an engrossing, blood-chilling, story driven single player campaign, Vampire Rain: Altered Species will also feature a highly robust multiplayer mode. If you have read it this far then you are either

A. Really Bored

B. Have never played the first Vampire Rain

C. Are a PS3 fan person who gets excited for any game.

Either way i just wasted precious time you will never get back……

Codmasters “Damnation” screens and Info

Posted by GUI J on July 7th, 2008

Hey PN and Pub family I hope your 4th weekend was good and that your ready for some E3 action thats headed our way. What I am bringing you today is a game that i have been keeping a keen eye on and one to watch for come this E3, and that is Codemasters Damnation, a new videogame franchise set to come onto the Xbox 360 and, the PS3, and Games for Windows this winter. Check out a sample from the official press release to get the skinny on what Damnation will be bringing us this Winter, along with some new Screen shots . Hit the link for screens “Damnation Screens

Damnation will feature huge, open environments, frenetic combat, daredevil acrobatics and high-octane vehicle-based stunts. Presenting players with an intense test of reflexes, quick thinking and rapid-fire conflict, Damnation will feature vast, breathtaking landscapes, each covering miles of distance and thousands of vertical feet.

Billed as a ‘shooter gone vertical’ and visually inspired by iconic elements of American history, these massive streaming landscapes will form the battlegrounds for a post-industrial conflict between humanity and an unstoppable arms dealer hell-bent on total world domination.

Players will be able to choose their own paths and navigate the world by performing daredevil feats on the edge of human ability. However players aren’t the only ones with mind-blowing acrobatic skills; intelligent enemies will give chase and engage players in frantic gun fights and attacks that can come from any direction - in Damnation’s world there’s no safe place to hide.

With up to three hours of actual gameplay stretching out in front of them per level, players will need more than just muscle power to get across each level safely. Damnation will offer players a selection of awe-inspiring vehicles, from motorbikes capable of launching across seemingly infinite chasms, to huge, armour-piercing marvels that will induce mayhem with every huge shell.

The high action will be supported with an epic and in-depth story which, while focusing on the exploits of the hero character Rourke, is truly an ensemble piece. Players will meet and become involved in intricate story plots that reveal much more than the obvious.

In addition to the single player experience, Damnation comes complete with a unique set of multiplayer options that take full advantage of the game’s expansive levels. Currently in development at Blue Omega’s facilities in Annapolis, USA, Damnation will be available for Xbox 360, the PLAYSTATION 3 system and Games for Windows in late 2008.

It’s no secret that The Gamers Pub has a major stand up with the one-eyed-cyclops when it comes to the Criterion boys, and girls and their crash fest franchise Burnout. Their last outing in the Burnout franchise, Burnout Paradise, has shown that Criterion has mad love for its Burnout fans by providing steady updates since the games release.

Now before you get all defensive, and Steve519ish, understand that most of these updates have been used to improve, and implement new and exciting things in the paradise universe, and while one or two updates would seem like all we would get out of a game and its developers, it seems that it is not enough for the Criterion crew. In the latest update on the official Web site, Criterion goes into the awesome features coming to Burnout Paradise update coming July 14 (Oh, and for once the PS3 owners will be getting this a little early on July 10th). There’s going to be quite a few additions so make sure to check the site for the full details. Also, the last thing mentioned is that they are experimenting with bringing “Planes” into a future Burnout update, I think I just shat motor oil all over the floor. GUI J
