Sony Columbia Pictures has officially announced that The RZA will be exec producing a remake to the cult-classic film The Last Dragon. The RZA continues to build up his film resume and has managed to land Samuel L. Jackson in the role as the evil Sho’nuff who was originally played by Julius Carry (RIP).

“I’m a huge fan of the original and look forward to bringing Sho’Nuff into the 21st century,” Jackson told The Hollywood Reporter. No word yet on who will play main character Leroy Green.

The remake of the movie will stay true to the original storyline while The RZA plans to add some contemporary hip-hop style to it. Set in New York City, the story follows a black teenage martial arts student and aspiring martial artist named Leroy Green, who goes on a quest to achieve The Final Level and a mystical energy called The Glow. On his way to becoming The Last Dragon, he must confront villains like a crooked arcade mogul named Eddie Arkadian and the evil Sho’nuff (Jackson).

This story comes from Engadget, and the reports say that on November 19th, the Xbox 360, with the New Xbox Experience (fall ‘08 update – and spring ‘08 update for that matter) will be the first place you can stream HD content from Netflix.  There will be a meager 300 HD titles to start with, but I’m sure more will be added.

Other ‘boxes’ that can stream SD content from Netflix include the Roku, LG’s BD300, Samsung’s P2500 / P2550 Blu-ray players and your PC on Netflix’s own “Watch Instantly” portal.  Even though HD streaming isn’t available on these yet, a recent update to the article linking to a Cnet report that states the HD streaming will come to all the boxes at the same time.  Netflix has estimated that HD streaming will require a download speed of 8-10 Mb/s.

Whether or not the 360 is the first place or just one of many places to stream HD content from Netflix, I’m totally excited about this.  I already own a 360, but none of the other boxes.  GUI J and I didn’t get in the NXE preview, but I’ll be sure to let you know on November 19th how it all works.  We may just have a Pub movie night!  Let us know what you’d want to watch with us.

As most Gamers Pub listeners know I am an avid Zombie fan, Movies, Books, it doesnt matter. It also is no secret that I have madd love for Valves upcoming FPS Left 4 Dead, as I have been constantly talking about it over at The Gamers Pub for the past year. It seems that as of late other developers have been taking a lovely relationships with our undead nightmares, as Zombies have seemed to be popping up everywhere. First we have had the dead be reanimated in Space with EA’s awesome new title Dead Space, then as I walk through the streets of Saints Row 2 we can find in arcade cabinets, or the consoles in your living quarters a Zombie mini-game of survival. Not being the only open world game to have Zombies in it the awesome Rockstar folks are giving GTA owners a Zombie patch with a zombie infestation that is to set up for multi-player mode.  It starts out when a virus is introduced into the game world and turns the players into zombies and the virus is contracted when a player kills someone who is infected with the virus.  The social club also allows registered users to see if they have been infected as well as seeing the spread of the disease on U.S. and world maps. Another surprise out of Left field is that the Trearch boys over at Activision are set to release a special mode in COD: World at War that will feature a “zombie mode” that’s unlocked once you complete the game. It’s a four-player co-op mode pitting you against endless waves of Nazi undead, and last but not least we have Left 4 Dead a game all about surviving a Zombie holocaust. SO as I said in the beginning 2008 is “Truly” The year of the Zombie. What do you think? And with Resident Evil 5 in the beginnig of 2009 will Zombies be the new Nazis?

Yes, SOOCH, of ‘The Fanboys” has come out of Fonzies office and revealed that Al Molinaro (Al from Happy Days, who ran Arnold’s dinner) is his father and Scott Baio (Chachi from Happy Days, and also Charles of “Charles in Charge”) is his mother. It’s too bad Sooch was put up for adoption and never had Charles in charge of him.

The best part for Sooch, is he found out Fonzie (Henery Winkler) was the midwife for his birth.

They say in space, no one can hear you scream, but when an immense mining ship, the USG Ishimura, comes into contact with a mysterious alien artifact in a remote star system, its communications with Earth are mysteriously cut off.
